Railways Days 2023

We love events that bring together leading players in our field.

From 17 to 18 October, Metrorex participated in the event “Railways Days”, organized by the Railway Club. On this occasion, Lot 1.1 considered it an appropriate occasion to promote the new M6 Metro Line. Alsim Alarko – Makyol prepared materials to represent the M6 brand image at a landmark event in the field of transportation as well as at other events of the project.

Metro Master class

The event took place on October 5, in a classroom of the Beneficiary at Laminorului metro station, on the occasion of the World Education Day.

20 children, each accompanied by an adult, attended a metro train engineer training course and learned about the new M6 Metro Line. Each child had the opportunity to sit at the same desk next to a metro train engineer. An instructor from the Beneficiary, the General Director of Metrorex and the Public Communication Manager on the Contractor’s behalf addressed the children and answered their questions. For the first time, children and mechanics attending the training course watched the video about the arrival of the first TBM for the M6 Metro Line. All participants of the event received a kit with M6 and POIM branded materials. The kit consisted of: canvas bag, notebook and pen, flyer, mug, badge and an umbrella.

First TBM in the South Section

The first TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine), designated to excavate the tunnels for the new M6 Metro Line. 1 Mai – Otopeni, arrived at the Port of Constanța on 6th September 2023. After a sea journey from Haydarpaşa Port, Turkey, the oversized machine, which will carve the underground path for Lot 1.1 of the new metro line, between the 1 Mai and Tokyo stations, began its epic journey. The TBM arrived in a single maritime transport, segmented into its component parts, and will be transported in a special convoy before beginning assembly preparations.

Spotlight on children’s artwork

As part of the campaign “How M6 Metro Line is Seen Through the Eyes of Children,” METROREX and Alsim Alarko – Makyol launched the exhibition “Spotlight on the children’s artwork” in a mix of visual and online components. The exhibition was organised at Străulești Metro Station, in the space belonging to the Metro Museum, which is also the passenger entry/exit area of the station. The key elements of the exhibition were the drawings made by children for the 1st of June campaign. Presented in a creative and attractive format, the exhibition complemented the children’s drawings with simple yet effective elements: light installations generating a warm, friendly, and playful atmosphere, and uniting in the same bright spirit a feeling of home, the happiness of the celebration and the urban touch of summer gardens, illuminated with modern, creative, urban design lights.

June 1, 2023

On June 1, the International Children’s Day, METROREX and Alsim Alarko – Makyol implemented the campaign “How the M6 is seen through the children’s eyes”. Children were invited to show their creativity through pre-event drawings and to share their ideas, vision and perception of the metro and the new M6 Metro Line, which were later presented in an exhibition. The children who submitted their artwork about the metro and the new M6 Metro Line were invited to Străulești Station/Depot, accompanied by adults, to visit the Metro Museum, meet with Metrorex representatives and see where the trains rest when they are not running. On this occasion, the children received information about the metro and the M6 Metro Line; they also received balloons, pinwheels, M6 branded badges, and had the opportunity to ask questions, enter the mechanic’s cab, meet with the representatives of Metrorex management.

Easter 2023

Easter is a deeply cherished celebration for Romanians. The Easter holidays invite tranquility, peace, and joy. They bring us together for family meals and offer us refreshing, calm moments in nature. Easter restores our vitality and the verve of sunny spring days. METROREX and Alsim Alarko – Makyol extended their best wishes to passengers via the TV screen network in metro stations and on social media.

1st-8th March 2023

“A project as green as spring!” – A corporate campaign that emphasizes the significance of the moment, merging the fertile nature/season of femininity with the start of a new major urban infrastructure project. At the same time, aligned with the uniquely feminine celebrations at the beginning of March, the context was opportune to connect the concept of equal opportunities with the anvergure of the M6 project. The value of female involvement was emphasized through its association with the vital, regenerative force that spring brings to the cycle of seasons. A chocolate clover, a bulb flower, and a lichen-adorned mărțișor conveyed the message “Wishing You a Beautiful Spring!” in an eco-friendly, natural campaign.

Public Campaign: “Traveling-Mărțișor!” Crocheted hearts made from M6 green wool were gifted to female passengers on the platform and in metro carriages on March 1st.

Eco Christmas 2022

“Every day, we are building a sustainable future. Now, we are building the future.”

The significance of the M6 Metro Line Project, a major urban infrastructure project, was highlighted through symbolic and suggestive ways, appealing to a strategy that emphasized the power of example. Rather than focusing on the glamour of the holiday season, the campaign aimed to shed light on the long-lasting benefits that good things bring to people’s lives. We chose a simple yet memorable gift – one that can be brought to life.

As part of a direct mailing campaign, the project was communicated to stakeholders, collaborators, and the press, delivering a long-term message while also extending an invitation for active involvement. We thus aimed to emphasize nature, continuity, and perspective, as well as the enduring value of professional and human relationships, and the importance of collaborative efforts.
