Today’s students, tomorrow’s specialists, in a technical dialogue at M6

Students attending the undergraduate program, second year, at the Faculty of Railways, Roads and Bridges – TUCB participated, as part of their internship, in a technical visit on the construction site of the future M6 Metro Line.

The students visited the future metro station Tokyo, on the SOUTH Section (from where the two TBM machines “Sfânta Maria” and “Sfânta Ana” started the tunneling works to the 1 Mai station) and the future metro station Ion I. C. Brătianu, on the NORTH Section.

On this occasion, the young people could witness the various stages of execution currently underway in the two work zones and received detailed information about the technical processes from the specialists on site.

The meeting was productive and interactive, the students got answers to many questions and were impressed by the complexity of the work and the deployment of human and technical resources.

Metrorex is open to dialogue with the academic and technical community, bearing in mind that the training of these young people must consistently combine theoretical study with practical experience.

During the signing ceremony of the strategic document, which took place at the Palace of the Parliament, the parties involved presented their own strategies in the domain of Transport, Energy and Digitalization, the projects currently being implemented, as well as future strategic projects that will lead to sustainable development in the above-mentioned strategic areas.

The General Director of Metrorex, Mariana Miclăuș, took part in the dialog on the occasion of this event together with H.E. Takashi KATAE – Ambassador of Japan in Romania.

After the signing ceremony of the strategic document on cooperation in the domain of Transport, Energy and Digitalization, the Japanese delegation made a series of thematic working visits, including to the future M6 Metro Line, financed from the Romanian state budget, through the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and reimbursable external funds, through the National Recovery and Resilience Program (PNRR) and the ROM-P5 Loan Agreement granted by JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency).

Japanese officials, members of the Japanese Parliament and representatives of some Japanese companies in the region visited the future metro stations Aeroport Băneasa, SOUTH section and Aeroport Otopeni, NORTH section of the future M6 Metro Line. Internationally, it represents a main intermodal connection hub in the trans-European transport network designed to meet the EU objectives in terms of sustainable mobility.

We would like to thank our Japanese partners for their continued support for the development of metro infrastructure!

Visit to the M6 construction site: pupils from Otopeni learnt how the underground is built

On May 29, on the occasion of the near coming Children’s Day, the pupils from the “Ioan Petruș” Theoretical High School from Otopeni were invited by the contractors appointed for the design and build of the civil works to visit the construction site of the future Ion I.C. Brătianu metro station, part of the M6 Metro Line.

If for Bucharest’s citizens the metro is a regular presence, for Otopeni it is a premiere: a modern mobility project that will link Gara de Nord Station to Henri Coandă International Airport.

The pupils and their teachers chose to turn the visit into an English course in a real-life context – right next to one of the Capital’s most important international transportation hubs. The choice was not by chance: the world’s first metro was inaugurated in London in 1863, and the M6 project today is being carried out by a mixed national and international team, with English as a key working tool.

The children could see a construction stage of the Ion I. C. Brătianu metro station in Otopeni and were engaged in an imaginative exercise which they expressed through ideas and messages written on a board installed on the construction site and through drawings on the theme: “How do I see a metro station?”.

The Metrorex branded event was organized with the participation of the contractors working on the North section (Gulermak – Somet) and on the South section (Alsim Alarko-Makyol Joint Venture) of the future M6 Metro Line and the Project Supervisor, PADECO Co., Ltd. – ORIENTAL CONSULTANTS GLOBAL Co., Ltd. – METROUL S.A.

Happy anniversary to all the children! We are glad that we could honor this day by meeting the future of urban transportation – a future that we are building, day by day, for them.

We invite you to explore the artistic creations of pupils from “Ioan Petruș” Theoretical High School in Otopeni, inspired by the recent visit to the construction site of the future Ion I.C. Brătianu metro station, part of the M6 Metro Line project!
