Between 3 and 23 November 2025, road traffic between Strada Jandarmeriei and Bulevardul Dr. Liviu Librescu is temporarily closed to allow construction works at the future “Washington” Metro Station, part of the BUCHAREST INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT RAIL ACCESS LINK PROJECT (Metro Line 6. 1 Mai – Otopeni). Design and Build – Civil Works for Lot 1.2: Tokyo – Aeroport Otopeni.
During this period, traffic will be diverted along the following route:
-> Aleea Privighetorilor –> Bulevardul Alexandru Nasta –> Bulevardul Dr. Liviu Librescu.
These measures are implemented based on the approval issued by CNAIR and the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police – Traffic Directorate. Road signage will be provided according to the approved traffic management plan. Upon completion of the works, traffic will return to its normal configuration.

The project “Metro Line 6. 1 Mai – Otopeni, The Bucharest International Airport Rail Access Link Project” is a public utility investment of national interest, according to Government Decision no. 496/2017, as subsequently amended, aiming to meet mobility needs by developing the Trans-European Transport Network.
Metro Line 6 will provide a direct connection between Gara de Nord Railway Station and Henri Coandă International Airport.
