The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure is one of the central public administration institutions participating in the Romanian Government’s Official Internship Program, 2025 edition.
During this period, students from technical faculties were assigned to specialized departments within the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure in order to deepen their knowledge in the field of transport and transport infrastructure.
To enhance knowledge and practical skills, the internship program also includes visits to construction sites under the authority of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure. The M6 Metro Line construction site is representative of major urban infrastructure works.
The visit was coordinated by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, Ms. Mariana IONIȚĂ, together with representatives of METROREX S.A., representatives of the contractor designated to execute civil works on the SOUTH Section of the project: Lot 1. 1, ALSIM ALARKO – MAKYOL Association (South Section, 1 Mai-Tokyo) and the project supervisor, PADECO Co., Ltd. – ORIENTAL CONSULTANTS GLOBAL Co., Ltd. – METROUL S.A. Association, took place at the construction site of the future Tokyo metro station.
The site specialists explained to the students the activities currently underway and gave them the opportunity to see the tunnel works and the technologies used to carry them out.
The technical visit included access to the tunnel area excavated by the two operational TBMs on the SOUTH Section, “Sfânta Maria” and “Sfânta Ana.”
The students asked questions, and the experts answered them and provided detailed information, accompanied by practical examples. The interest shown by the students met the expectations of the construction and public transport investment experts, with both sides confident in the projects that will improve people’s mobility.
M6 Metro Line is the first direct rapid connection between Gara de Nord railway station and Otopeni Airport, integrating regional air, rail, and road transport flows.
14.2 km of double track, 12 stations served by 12 new trains, providing a fast, convenient, and safe mode of transport for residents and tourists, ensuring a mobility corridor between the two airports and the center of the capital.
