Metrorex informs that, starting with September 1, 2025, there will be temporary changes in train traffic on Magistrala 4 (Gara de Nord 2 – Străulești), as a result of the works for connecting the new Metro Line 6 to the existing network.
Thus, trains will run with a transfer at Jiului station. Passengers will have to get off and change trains at the neighboring line, in the desired direction, to continue their journey.
The changes are necessary due to the temporary closure of line 2 between 1 Mai and Jiului stations, with trains running in both directions on a single track in this area.
These works are part of the Metro Line 6: 1 Mai – Otopeni project, which will directly connect Gara de Nord with Henri Coandă – Otopeni Airport, a project of national interest, declared of public utility by Government Decision no. 496/2017.
At the same time, Metrorex announces improvements in train frequency on other lines:
On Lines 1 and 3, between September 8 and December 31, 2025, the intervals between trains will be reduced:
• from 7 to 6 minutes on weekdays (Monday–Friday)
• from 10 to 9 minutes on weekends and public holidays
