M6, an investment delivered with government, European and Japanese funds

“Metro Line 6. 1 Mai – Otopeni, Connection of the metro network to Henri Coandă International Airport – Otopeni” is a project of considerable local relevance, with a significant regional and international impact.

One of the strategic funders of the M6 project is the Japan International Cooperation Agency – JICA, whose delegation made several official visits to Bucharest on Friday, 20 September 2024.

The JICA investors met representatives of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, among them Mr Ionuț Săvoiu, State Secretary, and Mrs Mariana Ioniță, Secretary General, together with representatives of the Ministry of Finance, of Metrorex, coordinated by Director General Mrs Mariana Miclăuș, and of the project Supervisor, the consortium PADECO Co., Ltd. – ORIENTAL CONSULTANTS GLOBAL Co., Ltd. – METROUL S.A.

The meeting covered the progress of the project and reviewed the current status of its delivery.

The JICA delegation, led by Mr Kei Toyama, Director General of the Europe Division, Department for the Middle East and Europe, accompanied by representatives of Metrorex, of the Supervisor and of the Contractors, visited the sites of the future Metro Line 6 stations Gara Băneasa and Tokyo.

The Contractor for the South Section, appointed for the works on the 1 Mai – Tokyo stretch, presented the progress of the works at the two future stations visited.
