Piața Montreal traffic restriction extended

The traffic restriction on Mărăști Blvd., in the area of Piața Montreal – Piața Presei Libere, is extended until November 15, 2024, according to the renewed Traffic Approval.

Execution activities at the future metro station Piața Montreal on the alignment of the future M6 Metro Line, South Section, within the framework of the execution contract “Bucharest International Airport Rail Access Link Project (Metro Line 6. 1 Mai-Otopeni). Design and Build – Civil Works for Lot 1.1: 1 Mai-Tokyo” necessitate the closure of the three existing traffic lanes on Mărăști Blvd., between Piața Montreal and Piața Presei Libere.

The traffic diversion plan is endorsed by the Technical Traffic Commission of the Bucharest City Hall, Transportation Department, by Opinion No. 4257/08.04.2024, by the Bucharest Streets Administration, and by the Bucharest Traffic Brigade, by Opinion No. 2791116 SSR/BS/10.05.2024.

Traffic diversion and road signage in the works area are carried out in accordance with the legislation in force.

The detour is signposted by information panels about the restriction at the intersections: Ion Mihalache Blvd. -Aviator Popișteanu Street, Aviator Popișteanu Street – Expoziției Blvd., Parcului Street – Expoziției Blvd. – Aviator Traian Vasile Street, Mărăști Blvd. – Alexandru Constantinescu Street, and Mărăști Blvd. – Mareșal Alexandru Averescu Blvd.

For pedestrians, crossing is ensured at the existing crossings at the ends of the restricted road section.
