
Metrorex announces the introduction of temporary traffic restrictions on National Road 1 (DN1), in the area of the junction with Strada Padina, for the execution of the works at the future PARIS metro station, part of the project “Connection of the metro network to Henri Coandă International Airport (Metro Line 6. 1 Mai – Otopeni)”.
From 24 November 2025:
- In the Ploiești – Bucharest direction, traffic will be restricted to 2 lanes;
- In the Bucharest – Ploiești direction, 3 traffic lanes will be maintained;
- At weekends, additional temporary restrictions may apply in both directions.
Drivers are asked to proceed with care and to observe the temporary road signs.
The works are being carried out with the approval of CNAIR – SDN Bucharest, issued with the agreement of DRDP Bucharest, CTC PMB and the Bucharest Traffic Police Brigade. The approval is issued until 31 December 2025, and both the approval and the associated traffic restrictions will be extended in successive stages, depending on the progress of the works.
“Metro Line 6. 1 Mai – Otopeni, Connection of the metro network to Henri Coandă International Airport – Otopeni” is a public utility project of national interest, in accordance with Government Decision no. 496/2017.
The new metro line will provide the direct link between Gara de Nord and Otopeni International Airport, contributing to the development of the trans-European transport network.
Metro Line 6 is a project for Romania.
