North Section

The “Bucharest International Airport Rail Access Link Project (Metro Line 6. 1 Mai – Otopeni)” is a project of public utility and national interest, in accordance with Government Decision no. 496/2017, with subsequent amendments and additions. The project addresses the mobility needs of individuals by developing the trans-European transport network (TEN-T). The funding sources for the design and execution of the Northern Section are provided by the state budget and external reimbursable funds – an external loan from JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency).
The North Section of Metro Line 6, stretching between Tokyo Station and Otopeni Airport Station, has a length of 7.6 km and includes 6 stations and 6 interstation segments.
Stations: Washington, Paris, Bruxelles, Otopeni, Ion I.C. Brătianu, Aeroport Otopeni.
Interstations: Tokyo – Washington, Washington – Paris, Paris – Bruxelles, Bruxelles – Otopeni, Otopeni – Ion I.C. Brătianu, Ion I.C. Brătianu – Aeroport Otopeni.
The contractor designated for the design and execution of the structural works for the Northern Section – Lot 1.2 is the Joint Venture Gülermak Ağir Sanayi Insaat Ve Taahhüt A.S. – Somet SA.
