High-level visit on the progress of the M6 works

Gara Băneasa Station, one of the most active construction sites of the future M6 Metro Line, South Section, received today the official visit of the Prime Minister, Marcel Ciolacu, and the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Sorin Grindeanu.

During the visit, the state of works on M6 Metro Line was presented.

The event was also attended by representatives of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure: Ionuț Săvoiu, Secretary of State, Mariana Ioniță, Secretary General and various other officials.

The visit was hosted by Metrorex through their General Director, Mariana Miclăuș, the Contractors Alsim Alarko-Makyol, Gülermak-Somet and the Project Supervisor – the Padeco Co. Ltd. – Oriental Consultants Global Co. Ltd. – Metroul S.A.

Prime Minister, Marcel Ciolacu emphasized that the only sustainable solution for economic development and for overcoming the traffic problem in Bucharest is to invest in infrastructure, in particular the extension of the metro network.

The Chief of the Executive said that all the necessary resources will be allocated for investments in major infrastructure and said that he would discuss with the Minister of the Interior and the Mayor of Bucharest to find solutions to the traffic problems in Bucharest that will be affected by such works.

The Constructor presented the progress of works for the South Section in general and for the upcoming Gara Băneasa Station, covered by the visit.

The officials discussed with journalists and representatives of the M6 implementation team, emphasizing that this project will continue to enjoy the attention and support of decision-makers for infrastructure investment in Romania.

M6 is a project for Romania!

“Bucharest International Airport Rail Access Link Project (Metro Line 6. 1 Mai – Otopeni” is a public utility of national importance, according to Government Decision no. 496/2017, as amended,  which ensures the mobility needs of people through the development of the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T).
