The most important legal acts regulating the realization of “Bucharest International Airport Rail Access Link Project (Metro Line 6. 1 Mai – Otopeni)” are:

– Government Decision no. 930/2016, approving the technical and economic indicators of the project according to the revised Feasibility Study, with the project being configured on a 14 km route with 12 stations and 12 trains.

– Environmental Agreement issued on 30.10.2017 by the Ministry of Environment – National Environmental Protection Agency;

– Romanian Government Decision no. 496/2017 on the initiation of expropriation procedures for private properties that form the expropriation corridor for the public utility works of national importance “Bucharest International Airport Rail Access Link Project (Metro Line 6. 1 Mai – Otopeni)”;

-Order of the Minister of Transport, Infrastructure, and Communications no. 995/19.05.2020, approving the updated economic indicators related to the investment objective;

-Romanian Government Decision no. 906/13 July 2022 on the supplementation for the year 2022 of the amount provided as fair compensation, approved by Government Decision no. 496/2017, regarding the initiation of expropriation procedures for private properties that form the expropriation corridor for the public utility works of national importance “Bucharest International Airport Rail Access Link Project (Metro Line 6. 1 Mai – Otopeni”, as well as the amendment of Annex no. 2 to Government Decision no. 496/2017.;

-Government of Romania Decision No. 906/July 13, 2022 regarding the supplementation for the year 2022 of the amount allocated as fair compensation, as approved by Government Decision No. 496/2017, concerning the initiation of expropriation procedures for privately owned properties that constitute the expropriation corridor for the public utility works of national interest “Bucharest International Airport Rail Access Link Project (Metro Line 6. 1 Mai – Otopeni”, and the amendment of Annex No. 2 of Government Decision No. 496/2017.

– Government of Romania Decision No. 823/September 8, 2023 regarding the supplementation for the year 2023 of the amount allocated as fair compensation, as approved by Government Decision No. 496/2017, concerning the initiation of expropriation procedures for privately owned properties that constitute the expropriation corridor for the public utility works of national interest “Linking the Metro Network with Henri Coandă International Airport – Otopeni (Main Line 6. 1 Mai – Otopeni)”, and the amendment of Annex No. 2 of Government Decision No. 496/2017;

– Council of the European Union Implementing Decision No. 15883 of December 5, 2023, amending the Implementing Decision of October 29, 2021, which approved the assessment of Romania’s Recovery and Resilience Plan;

– Order of the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure No. 1035/2024, approving the update of the technical-economic indicators for the investment project;

Since all acts issued by the authorities are public acts, all such approval documents can be consulted by the public online, on the websites of the issuing authorities as well as on specialized websites.

The feasibility and design studies were carried out with a view to implementing the project in a way that is safe for residents and buildings, so that TBM excavations can be carried out safely in the corridor established for the new subway Main Line 6. M6 metro line. Special, non-intrusive, non-pervasive monitoring equipment, which in no way affects the integrity and appearance of the building/premises, is installed onto the buildings in the area of influence of the site works. They constantly monitor, with technical accuracy and fidelity, any possible change that the block may experience due to said works. The monitoring equipment is a further guarantee that the work is being carried out responsibly for your home.

Great projects are built through hard work and with the participation of the whole community, which is in fact the main beneficiary of such a major investment. Main Line 6 M6 metro line will be the direct connection from North Railway Station (Gara de Nord) to Henri Coandă International Airport, without transfer at 1 Mai station. A subway station that will be in the immediate vicinity of your home, for a fast and efficient connection to the subway network and to points of maximum interest in Bucharest and Ilfov will increase the real estate value and economic level of the area where you live.

Due to the specific nature of the activities and site works, any changes to the normal course of vehicle and pedestrian traffic, everything is carried out with the consent of the authorities, in accordance with the legislation in force. In this regard, according to the approved Traffic Plan for M6 metro line, we have provided sidewalk/pedestrian access throughout the sector affected by the works, from the STB station, with its new location, to the commercial area at the intersection with General Ștefan Holban Street. Pedestrians can safely walk the distance to the shops on the specially designed sidewalk, which meets legal requirements.

The site works are being carried out in a planned manner, with a back-up plan to ensure the continuous provision of utilities: running water, electricity, telecom services. These works will not cause interruptions in the supply of the above-mentioned services. Should such situations arise, please contact the relevant service provider directly and also direct any enquiries relating to such an incident directly to the provider concerned.

As part of the project for the new M6 metro line, the replanting of trees is mandatory and will be carried out at the stage foreseen in the works plan, in accordance with the legal provisions in force.
